From the East, and I-5, take exit 253 West (Hwy. 22, Santiam). Hwy. 22 becomes Mission St. Head West on Mission St. past Bush Park, turn right on Church St. and then right on Bellevue.
From Polk County, take Hwy. 22 over the bridge and exit on Front Street South. Front Street curves and becomes Trade. Proceed straight for three blocks, and then turn right on Church, and then left on Bellevue.

Our office believes in providing high quality, personal medical and surgical care. We pride ourselves on prompt, attentive service. Dr. Bernardo has been in practice here in Salem since 1992. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Critical Care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Over the years Dr. Bernardo has specialized in the surgical management of medically complex patients. More recently, he has turned his attention to providing optimal outpatient surgical care.
Dr. Bernardo has a busy, diverse surgical practice. Breast Cancer care, and the surgical treatment of Thyroid and Parathyroid diseases are two of his particular interests. In addition, he is well known for his management of Inguinal Hernias.
A good portion of his practice is devoted to the care of Gastrointestinal and Intra-abdominal problems. This includes the evaluation and surgical management of Gallbladder Disease, Gastroesophageal Reflux, Diverticulitis, and Cancer of the Colon and Recutm. This also includes Anorectal diseases, such as Hemorrhoids, Anal fistula, Anal Fissures and Pilonidal Cysts. Dr. Bernardo performs Laparoscopic surgery whenever possible, and has a very active Endoscopy practice (colonoscopy, upper endoscopy).
We have contracts with most major insurance carriers. We accept Medicare and Medicaid patients without limitation.
